By being a member of IRTA we are able to use the expertise of Ron Whitney and the resources of IRTA.
 
Although we had operated our own barter exchange for a number of years, we worked with Ron to better understand the IRS requirements for barter exchanges reporting 1099B forms. Through IRTA we learned the distinct differences between a 1099 and a 1099B, the reporting requirements and just an overall understanding of how we could help the exchanges using our software better comply with the IRS.
 
Just this information, more than pays for our IRTA membership. If you own a barter exchange or provide any services or products to the barter and trade industry, I strongly recommend you join with IRTA.
